Shariah Risk Analyst

Department/Division:

Group Risk Management

Job Description:

  • To regularly review on Shariah compliance in the activities and operations of the Bank which aims to ensure that the activities and operations carried out by the Bank in adherence to the resolutions made by the Bank’s Shariah Committee via periodical assessment and evaluation the Bank’s level of compliance to the Shariah and remedial rectification measures to resolve non-compliant issues.
  • To ensure the Bank’s control are in place as to avoid recurrences of such non-compliances.
  • To monitor the Bank overall business operations compliance, including the end-to-end product development process.
  • To ensure comprehensive reviewing process that covers all aspects of the Bank is in compliance with the Shariah requirements.
  • To report non Shariah compliance cases directly to Shariah Committee and other relevant internal Committees to communicate and notify the Bank for remedial rectification plan.
  • To closely monitor Shariah non-compliance cases and recommends appropriate rectifications for the Bank as approved by the Shariah Committee.
  • To assess the level of staff awareness and knowledge on Islamic banking products and operations.
  • To monitor the implementation of the Shariah Instruction Circular (SIC), Shariah Committee resolution and Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) BNM that address to the business unit/ product owner/ branches.
  • To conduct ad hoc review on the banking process and operation upon request from Shariah Committee or Group Chief Compliance Officer (GCCO)/HOD.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognized first or master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Shariah, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh or Fiqh Mu’amalat,
  • To have a minor in Islamic Economics, Finance, Banking or Accounting would be an additional advantage,
  • Minimum 3 year of experience in Islamic financial services industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Good command of spoken and written in English and Arabic,
  • Good understanding in regulatory requirements in industry,
  • Computer literate,
  • Result driven, independent and highly motivated.

Traded Risk Analyst

Department/Division:

Group Risk Management

Job Description:

  • Assists Trade Risk Senior Analyst on the documentation of the Risk Analysis and Business Impact Analysis (RA/BIA).
  • Assists Trade Risk Senior Analyst st to monitor and oversee BCP/DRP testing event and timely report(s) submission by business unit(s).
  • Assists Trade Risk Senior Analyst on administrative matters.

  • Degree in Business Management, Banking, Information Technology or related discipline.

Branch Manager

Department/Division:

Community Banking

Job Description:

  • Drive and achieve overall Branch Sales Targets such as deposits, Investments, Loans – ASBF, SMART MONEY & Education loan, Bancassurance Banca Takaful product, Credit Card & Business referrals.
  • Ensure that every staff discharge duties in accordance with Branch Manual, BNM Guidelines, and Other Regulatory / Statutory Requirement, Internal control process & procedures.
  • Act as BCM Coordinator and perform Business Continuity Plan & Call Tree Exercise.
  • Act as Business Compliance Officer (BUCO) Representative.
  • Provide training/briefing on products and identify training needs and recruitment of staff.

Min Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Possess the ability to guide and train a team of staff to achieve sales target and service standards.

Credit Analyst

Department/Division:

Corporate Banking

Job Description:

  • To request the customer to submit the documents including the Cash Flow statement for the core business 3 months before the review date.
  • To communicate with the Bank’s Panel of Valuer for verbal indicative valuation for landed property (if there is no latest formal valuation report within 2 years).
  • As a Liaison Person with Compliance & Risk Management Dept. {CRM} to obtain the ‘KYC’ result which includes Connected Party checking; AMLA/CFT /Dow Jones Checking, CTOS, CCRIS, and related matters. Loan Administration & Documentation Dept. {LAD} on Security Confirmation Certificate {CCC}, limit maintenance in SIBS, documentation & drawdown status, etc. In-house Legal, where legal advice/clearance is needed. Group Credit Management on status of the decision on credit recommendations & Other units within the Bank, where necessary.
  • To perform the Credit Risk Evaluator {CRE} in the CRE system accurately to obtain the customer’s credit grade correctly. After the approval of the CAM / FAM, instruct BIS to update the customer’s credit grade into SIBS.
  • To peruse all the above feedback, where there is any positive finding, to get clarifications (with documentary proof will be a plus point) from the customers. To explain the finding & customer’s clarification in CAM/FAM & Appendix.
  • Preparation of CAM/FAM for review & renewal of facilities and ensure that all the following data are correctly input into the CAM/FAM. All the static data of the customer. All the static data and updated information of the customer. All the existing terms & conditions are approved by the Bank. All the findings with available justification on case to case basis. Exposure summary. Customer’s Cash Flow Projections. Profit / Interest earned by the Bank. Financial highlights. All other information required in CAM/FAM, by no means exhaustive. No missing out on any mandatory compliance for the account under review.
  • Preparation of Executive Summary, where required so.

Min Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or other related disciplines.
  • Professional Qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, Certified Credit Professional will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience in audit, risk, tax or M&A advisory from Big 4 consulting firm or banking.
  • Good knowledge and understanding in credit assessment, financial analysis and risk management.
  • Possess strong communication, client focus and portfolio management skills.
  • Computer literate with good command in Microsoft Office -Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
